Dr. Eric Ranta was born and raised in Seattle about three blocks from the office. He graduated from the University of Washington, School of Dentistry with honors in 1974. He attended General Practice Residency in the United States Air Force. Dr. Ranta also participated in an oral surgery practicum in Liverpool, England. He has maintained his membership in study clubs for advanced dentistry for the last thirty years. Prior to dental school, he earned his B.A. in Zoology. His interests include music, reading, and going to the gym. He also enjoys all sports, especially UW basketball & golf (the never ending quest).
Dr. David Russell has been practicing at this Laurelhurst location since 1988. He graduated from the University of Washington, School of Dentistry with honors in 1987. He completed his General Practice Residency at the UW the following year. He also held faculty positions at the UW Medical Center and Harborview Medical Center, where he provided and taught hospital based dental care, primarily for special needs individuals. Prior to dental school, he earned a B.A. in Business Administration. Dr. Russell is an avid water and snow skier and enjoys spending time outdoors.
Dr. Stephanie Stratil grew up in Phoenix, Arizona. 
She received her dental degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry. Prior to dental school, she attended the University of Notre Dame where she received degrees in Preprofessional Studies and Anthropology. In 2006, Dr. Stratil moved to Seattle to participate in a hospital-based General Dentistry Residency at the University of Washington. After her residency, she joined Drs. Ranta and Russell at this Laurelhurst practice. She regularly attends meetings with a local study club and takes advanced courses at the Spear Institute for Dentistry. She enjoys spending time outdoors, hiking, running, and skiing.
